چکیده
Satellite remote sensing precipitation products with high temporal–spatial resolution and large area coverage have great potential in hydrometeorological research. This paper analyzes the performance of four satellite from 2000 to 2008 Yarlung Zangbo River Basin, namely Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM), Precipitation Estimation Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks-Climate Data Record (PERSIANN), Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Station data (CHIRPS), Prediction Center morphing method (CMORPH). The are evaluated three aspects: spatial distribution, temporal characteristics, hydrological simulation. results show that: (1) exhibit similar annual daily patterns, highest accuracy concentrated center, followed by east west; (2) TRMM, CHIRPS, CMORPH largest positive bias for monthly estimation December, while PERSIANN shows July. All overestimate 0.1–5 mm/d, underestimate above 5 especially PERSIANN; (3) certain Products tend perform better than others at elevations 3000–4000 m relatively humid zones. TRMM stable various elevation climate zones; (4) model validation, has best during calibration period, although it is inferior CHIRPS validation period. Overall, applicability Basin; however, its impact on uncertainty modeling needs be further studied.

Evaluation of Precipitation Products of TRMM Satellite in Precipitation and Erosion Rate Monitoring across Iran
Extended abstract 1- Introduction In order to calculate the erosive power of rainfall, high-resolution precipitation data are necessary for rainfall erosion evaluation. However, collecting the required data on kinetic energy of the rainfall particles and precipitation rates with short-term temporal resolution is a time-intensive task, particularly in developing countries, and the collecte...

متن کاملComparison and evaluation of satellite derived precipitation products for hydrological modeling of the Zambezi River Basin
In the framework of the African DAms ProjecT (ADAPT), an integrated water resource management study in the Zambezi Basin is currently under development. In view of the sparse gauging network for rainfall monitoring, the observations from spaceborne instrumentation currently produce the only available rainfall data for a large part of the basin. Three operational and acknowledged high resolution...
متن کاملHydrological Assessment of Daily Satellite Precipitation Products over a Basin in Iran
In order to measure precipitation as the main variable for estimating the runoff and designing hydraulic structures, the satellite algorithm products that have the proper spatial and temporal coverage, can be used. In this study, at first, the daily streamflow simulation of Sarough-Cahy River from the Zarinehroud basin was conducted through the artificial neural network (ANN) and ground data of...

Satellite precipitation products (SPPs) are critical data sources for hydrological prediction and extreme event monitoring, especially for ungauged basins. This study conducted a comprehensive hydrological evaluation of six mainstream SPPs (i.e., TMPA 3B42RT, CMORPH-RT, PERSIANN-RT, TMPA 3B42V7, CMORPH-CRT, and PERSIANN-CDR) over humid Xixian basin in central eastern China for a period of 14 ye...
